Most of my work sits where identity, endpoint management, and cloud security overlap. In practice that means helping organisations get out of "this is how we've always done it" and into something more secure that is also less annoying to run day to day.

What I actually do

  • Design and roll out passwordless and phishing-resistant authentication with Microsoft Entra ID and FIDO2.
  • Build security architectures that reduce real risk instead of filling in a compliance spreadsheet.
  • Automate across the enterprise software stack, because manual steps are where consistency dies and human error moves in. The goal is systems that run the same way every time.
  • Replace the boring Word documents describing processes nobody reads or updates with code that actually does the thing.
  • Lead modernization work across Intune, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
  • Turn confusing platform changes into guidance an IT team can follow without a translator.

Speaking and community

I speak at conferences and community events on security, identity, and modern work, and I publish what I learn here rather than keeping it in a private OneNote.

What you can expect from me

Strong opinions about password policies and half-finished MFA rollouts. Direct feedback when a design is more complicated than the problem it solves. And very little patience for process documents that should have been scripts.

Why iphase?

Back when multiplayer meant hauling your PC to a LAN, my nickname was InterPhase. Then I got properly online, and 90s IRC enforced a letter cap on nicknames, so InterPhase got cut down to iPhase. Years before the iPhone existed, by the way. I'm fairly sure I bumped into someone from Apple at some point, and the rest is their history.

When my first real paycheck landed, somewhere around 1998, I bought the domain. It's been my personal corner of the internet ever since.

Personal

I live in Copenhagen. Father, neurodivergent, unapologetically nerdy. I've been at this since the Plug and Pray years, back when a steady income meant telling people to turn the computer off and on again. Nearly three decades, the usual collection of outages and user rage, and I still like the part where something finally works.

My proudest moment in infrastructure? I once saved a company from 100% data loss by kicking a storage array. Hard. With my boot. Don't try that at home, but do ask me about it over a coffee.
